FAVORITE tools

I’ve compiled this list of tools I get asked about often. Here are my favorites based on experience, personal purchases, research, and recommendations from other colleagues in the industry. I don’t post anything I don’t stand by. I do sometimes receive a small commission from some of the items at no additional cost to you. Thanks for supporting QuinVox so that I may continue to provide tips, tools, and mentorship for artists and music lovers everywhere.

A good tumbler is a singer’s bff. Not just because hydration is key, but also for bubbles! Click here to watch a video that uses bubbles for warming up. This one comes with a metal straw and cleaner for the straw. It’s well priced and very handy. Love!

Everything is online now. Prepare yourself for any virtual scenario with a simple audio set-up that will help you sound better. I’ve been using the PreSonus setup above for a number of recording projects and daily use. It’s very versatile and affordable. But, for online lessons only, a simple, USB mic is worthwhile. I use this Blue snowball to teach via Zoom, and I love it. It really picks up sound even at a distance.

Learning the basics of piano can help singers improve pitch, adlibs and timing (among other things). I love this small version (25 keys) for those who want portability. Plus I love that it comes with Akai’s MPC Beats Software. That’s a bonus!

This is a 49-key alternative which is similar to the keyboard I use: the M-Audio Keystation 61-Key. I don’t like to have to change octaves mid-exercise, so the 61 works best for me. It all depends on what you need it for. I recommend the smaller to mid sizes for basic learning, songwriting/pre-production.

I've been drinking this tea for over 20 years. Love how comforting it feels after a long vocal day, before bed. This is not really for use other than to soothe tired throats.
